White Salmon Vineyard, Columbia Gorge AVA, Washington

Brix: 23.6, pH: 3.27 , TA: 6.1g/L , Malic: 2.16 g/L, Yan: 88

Located in southwest section of White Salmon vineyard in San Crispin Field, two rock-ridden acres make up our Field Blend. Syrah, Malbec, Pinot Noir, Blaufränkisch and Chardonnay vines are closely planted in volcanic soil. The vines are hand-tended & harvested.

Grown only a mile from the Oregon Boarder, on the cool end of the Columbia Gorge AVA, these grapes show rich chewy flavors with complexity and tannins. The blend is dominated with Syrah and Malbec, followed by Pinot Noir and sprinkling of Blaufränkisch and Chardonnay.

White Salmon Vineyard, previously a pear orchard, is home to 20 acres of fine wine grapes. We grow primarily Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The property was chosen for the weather conditions and soil, both ideal for these two varietals. Though, equally at home are Malbec, Syrah, Reisling, and Sauvignon Blanc. The Columbia Gorge AVA was originally based on this cool climate area. The soils were formed by volcanic activity thousands of years ago and the vineyard maintains at least three different soil types. These conditions, plus a carefully selected mix of clones, combine to provide a terrior for world-class grapes.
